Convertive Documentation

Welcome to Convertive — the conversion-focused premium theme by Opus Technologies. This guide takes you from install to a fully configured store. No coding required.

Getting Started

Install

  1. Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → Add theme → Upload zip file
  2. Upload the Convertive zip, then click Customize
  3. Keep your previous theme published until setup is complete; publish Convertive when ready
Getting Started

Choose Your Starting Point

Convertive ships three presets. If you installed from the Shopify Theme Store you already picked one; each is the same engine with a different personality:

PresetBuilt ForPersonality
ConvertiveGrowing brands (10–100 products)Luxury gold, ivory neutrals
SoloSingle-product storesFashion rose, storytelling homepage
MetropolisLarge catalogs (500+)Tech blue, efficient density
Getting Started

The 15-Minute Setup

  1. Theme settings → Branding — logo + favicon
  2. Colors — six colors drive everything; the Accent powers buttons, badges, and the goal ladder
  3. Typography — Playfair Display + Work Sans by default; swap freely, adjust base size and per-level H1/H2/H3 sizes
  4. Cart — pick Drawer (recommended), set your free-shipping threshold
  5. Walk the homepage sections and replace the sample content
Design System

Color Schemes

Beyond your main palette, Theme settings → Color schemes holds three reusable palettes (Modern Black, Ivory, Organic Green by default). Every content section has a Color scheme picker — flip a section to Scheme 2 for an instant dark editorial block without touching global colors.

Design System

Buttons

Theme settings → Buttons gives you nine controls: solid/outline style, four hover effects (lift, glow-ring, shine sweep, none), size, text weight, letter spacing, uppercase, and corner radius. Sharp corners (radius 0) are the Convertive signature.

Design System

Cards

Theme settings → Product cards: image ratio (Tall 4/5 is the signature), three card styles (minimal / outlined / floating shadow), text alignment, color swatch dots, and the badge system.

Design System

Per-Section Controls

Every content section carries its own top/bottom padding sliders, a background style (none / soft surface / inverse), and the color scheme picker. You never fight global spacing.

Homepage Sections

Section Overview

Drag, reorder, and configure everything in the editor. Convertive includes 53 sections. Highlights:

  • Slideshow — up to 6 slides, each with eyebrow, heading, text, and two buttons. Optional auto-rotate.
  • Collection list — image cards linking to collections, with product counts and custom overrides.
  • Promo tiles — an image tile grid; set any tile to Wide to span two columns.
  • Featured collection — product row with a "View all" link; 2-column grid or swipeable carousel on mobile.
  • Featured product — a full buy experience anywhere on the site; supports video and 3D.
  • Lookbook — one image, up to 6 pulsing hotspots; each opens a mini product card with quick view.
  • Before/after slider — two images with a draggable divider; fully keyboard accessible.
  • Video — Shopify-hosted or YouTube/Vimeo.
  • Testimonials, FAQ (with SEO structured data), Collapsible content, Rich text, Newsletter, Trust badges, Scrolling text, Countdown, Custom Liquid — all present.

Section Scheduling

Slideshow, Image banner, Promo tiles, Announcement bar, Countdown, Scrolling text, and Popup each have a Scheduling group: Show from and Hide after (format 2026-08-01 18:00, store timezone). Your weekend promo appears Friday evening and removes itself Monday morning. Sections always show inside the editor so you can keep working on them.

Product Blocks

Everything is a block — add, remove, reorder:

  • Media gallery — images keep their natural shape by default (or pick a fixed ratio). Click any image for the zoom lightbox. Video, YouTube/Vimeo, and 3D models render natively.
  • Variant picker — native color/image swatches. Combined listings navigate correctly.
  • Stock indicator — real inventory only ("Only 3 left").
  • Pre-order — automatic: if a variant is set to Continue selling when out of stock and stock hits zero, the button and card badge switch to "Pre-order".
  • Back-in-stock alert — an email form appears only when the selected variant is sold out.
  • Size chart — link any Shopify page; opens in a modal.
  • Collapsible rows — shipping, care, sizing. Optionally pull content from a per-product metafield. Flip to render as tabs instead.
  • Pickup availability — shows local pickup for the selected variant.
  • Rating — stars from the standard reviews.rating metafield.
  • Gift cards — the recipient form appears automatically on gift card products.
  • Sticky buy bar — on mobile, the add-to-cart follows the shopper.

Buy Buttons & Express

Choose your add-to-cart text from the preset pack ("I want it, NOW", "Take my money"…) or type your own. Optionally enable the Convertive Express button — custom text, adds the item, jumps straight to checkout.

Shopify's own "Buy it now" label can't be changed by any theme — Express is the workaround.

Bundle (frequently bought together) — pick up to 3 companion products; shoppers tick boxes, see a live bundle total, add everything in one tap.

Collections & Search

Filters & AJAX

Configure which filters exist in Shopify admin → Navigation → Filters. Convertive renders them with color swatch dots, a sticky toolbar, and on mobile a slide-in filter drawer with active counts and a sticky "Show results" button.

AJAX filtering — results swap without a page reload; the URL updates so filtered views are shareable.

Collections & Search

Pagination & Grid

  • Pagination — numbered pages, a "Load more" button, or infinite scroll.
  • Editorial mixed grid — enable it and every seventh product becomes a large feature tile.
  • Collection navigation — assign a menu to show related-collection chips above the grid.
  • Editorial header — set Header style: Editorial and the collection's image becomes a full-bleed banner.
  • Search — the same filters and sorting apply to search results. Predictive search shows live suggestions as customers type.
Cart & Conversion

Cart Goal Ladder

Theme settings → Cart — beyond free shipping, add up to two more goals ("Free gift" at $80, "VIP sample pack" at $120). Shoppers see a segmented progress bar with markers ticking green. "You're X away from…" messaging drives the cart higher.

Goals 2–3 are messaging — fulfill them with Shopify discounts or your packing flow.

Cart & Conversion

Cart Features

  • Gift wrapping — create a product for your wrap fee, assign it; a checkbox appears in the cart and drawer.
  • Empty-cart recovery — pick a best-sellers collection; an empty cart shows three tappable products instead of a dead end.
  • Shipping estimator — country, province, ZIP → live rates from your actual shipping settings.
  • In-cart upsells — automatic complementary recommendations in the drawer.
  • Cart notes, discount rows, tax messaging, and express checkout buttons are all built in.
Cart & Conversion

Product Compare

Theme settings → Product cards → Enable product compare — checkboxes appear on cards; shoppers pick up to 3, a floating tray opens a side-by-side sheet. Selections survive page navigation.

Navigation & Header

Mega Menu

Add a Mega menu block to the Header section; type the exact menu-item name, add a promo image and featured collection.

Navigation & Header

Mobile Menu

Divided rows with a staggered entrance, plus an optional promo card (image + heading + link) and a pinned account/search row — all in Header settings.

Account menu — signed-in customers get a header dropdown (account, orders, addresses, logout).

Announcement bar — with optional real-deadline countdown and scheduling.

International & Accessibility

Languages & RTL

English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish ship complete. Enable them in Shopify admin → Settings → Languages; selectors appear in the footer automatically (with the country/currency picker, driven by your Markets).

Right-to-left — Arabic, Hebrew, and other RTL locales flip automatically.

Sign in with Shop appears on the login page; Follow on Shop in the footer (both toggleable).

International & Accessibility

Accessibility

Accessibility is engineered in: keyboard-operable menus and dialogs, screen-reader announcements for cart and search, visible focus everywhere, generous touch targets, and full reduced-motion support.

Structured data — Product, FAQPage, Article, and BreadcrumbList JSON-LD ship built in.

Badges

Badge Types

Automatic and honest:

  • New — products published within your chosen window (Theme settings → Product cards)
  • Almost gone — real tracked stock below your threshold
  • Sale −X%, Sold out, Pre-order — computed from real data
  • Custom — tag any product badge:Editor Pick or badge:Trending; the label renders as a signature chip (max two badges per card, so they stay meaningful)
